"isolotti a fior d'onda"
have you ever happened to fight against a text that literally refuses to be written?...lines and passages seeming to live their own life
and showing sort of an all-own stubbornness (or shyness, pride, malice?...call it what you like), quarrelsome words that create
endless obstacles to any transcription - the nib bends or cracks, the ink spreads to smear a paper that had never spotted before,
the sheet is crimped and recalcitrant - so irritating!...anyway, I tried again, and I'll try again - being stubborn is something I know
so well! (from Umberto Saba, "Ulisse", 1946)
