yorukamome [userpic]
friends and friends

an old folio, which I was asked for by a good Friend (who teased me saying it was for a common
third friend) and then I myself gifted of, by that same Person...funny story, isn’t it? she brought me
the text she had written, carefully followed all the phases of my work sitting beside me at my desk,
added some good comment here and there along my writing, paid me as if it was a true commission,
asked me what frame she should buy and how to frame the page...then, on Christmas’ morn, she rang
at my doorbell with flowers, sweets and a glittering flat package under her arm – it was 2004, and I’m
re-framing the folio right in these Christmas’ days...let me now share "my gift" with you all Friends:

“I love you not just for what you are
but for what I am when I think of you
I love you not only for what you have done of yourself
but for what you are doing of me
I love you because you were more than every Faith
to help my growing better
more than every Destiny to help my being happy
you did it without a word nor a sign nor a touch
you did it just being yourself
even when you weren’t due to
maybe, beyond everything,
this is for real to be a friend”

I apologize for the horrible quality of my photograph, as well as for the accurateless presentation:
no size, no materials and items’ list…I’m posting it under one of those uncontrollable impulses
that always make our life better, if we dare follow them shamelessly, without any hesitation...

what a beautiful story - being that third person!

and it is such a wonderful writing of words to live by.

i'm so happy you shared this with us. its quite an extraordinary piece and made for such a very special person :)

thanks, bette...oh, it still feels strange and
surprising, that I was and am considered such
a person...I begin to think somebody's really

I see...only one word left, NE!

I am seldom speechless on LJ as you know. ihihih. but when I look at something crafted with such perfection...there are no words.

I think for the most part Italians keep their histories alive in the present. Maybe some...like you.

this is tedious work, time consuming and I don't know how you do it. surely there were days where you felt like pulling out each strand of your hair.

how old were you when you first embarked on this type of artwork? who inspired you or who was your mentor? or was it just you?

believe me, wic dear, I don't know it either, LOL!...sincerely, even if that happened some late along my
past life, I myself couldn't say - don't know, can't remember - WHEN nor HOW I "slipped" from my activity
of simple painter/drawer to calligraphy...can't say as well WHY I did, nor why I chose right THIS way to
express my own mind and world...no mentor, no peculiar inpirators - it is true that I had brilliantly followed
(ahehemmm...:) also University courses in paleography, but never before would I suppose that I was going to
make of my "natural gifts" a scribe's existence...it all happened by mere chance, a sequel of circumstances
together with still don't know what sort of a tortuous mental path...I will send you anyway a page I HAD to
write back in time to introduce one of my exhibitions: once again, I myself don't know how much of UNTHOUGHT
and what percentage of "advertising essay" was there in it, but it can be at least illuminating...LOL!

ohmygoodness! MY brain would have exploded right then.

What was your parents reaction to all of your curiosity at such a tender age? did you have a love life at all? LOL

well, it was just a couple of exams in my Letter/Philosophy first graduation,
nothing so BRAINSQUEEZING, ne!...and I was, will you again believe it or not,
the worst student all along my High - I discovered my "studious nature" only when
I began University, that's all...as for my poor parents, they couldn't believe my notes
(neither could I myself, obviously!) everytime I was back home after an exam, LOL!

Oh my...

Stordente... mi fa girare la testa! ;)

Re: Oh my...

no, no...devi restare in piedi, ché è già aria di Natale,
e ci sono le FATICOSISSIME feste da affrontare, NE!...
